Hands & Hearts for Ukraine Community event – Saturday, October 17

You are cordially invited to a Rochester Ukrainian Community and Nazareth College Center for International Education sponsored event

on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 6:00 pm at the Ukrainian Cultural Center, 1040 Jackson Rd., Webster, NY 14580.

Join us in welcoming Rector Ihor Pasichnyk and Dr. Eduard Balashov, Director of International Studies at the National University Ostroh Academy of Ukraine who are visiting Rochester to build, strengthen and promote a great opportunity for our Greater Rochester community — an academic partnership between Ostroh Academy and Nazareth College. This event will also recognize the Rochester community’s humanitarian aid to Ukraine initiatives during the past year.

A cultural program will feature our talented local performers:  Zhanna Polyanska-Wirlo & Malvy, Yuliya Pavlyuk-Kret and Nickole Riedl-Sleight on the bandura, a traditional Ukrainian instrument. Rector Ihor Pasichnyk and Dr. Eduard Balashov will give brief overviews of current issues in Higher Education and Politics in Ukraine. The community event includes a traditional Ukrainian style buffet prepared by the Ukrainian Cultural Center of Rochester.

Please join our community co-participants, (ROC Maidan, Ukrainian Cultural Center of Rochester, Irondequoit-Poltava Sister Cities, Rochester Ukrainian Group (RUG), Taras Shevchenko School of Ukrainian Studies “Ridna Shkola”, UNWLA, Branch 120, PLAST Ukrainian Scouting Organization, Ukrainian FCU) in welcoming our Ostroh guests and extending our “Hearts & Hands” to Ukraine.

Tickets ($20 per person payable to the Ukrainian Cultural Center)

are available at the Ukrainian FCU Main Office, 824 East Ridge Rd., UFCU Webster Branch, 900 Holt Rd. and the Ukrainian Cultural Center, 1040 Jackson Rd., Webster.
